The Iowa Golf Association is once again holding seminars educating individuals on the Rules of Golf. There are four scheduled around the state of Iowa, three on Saturdays and one on a Monday evening. Each seminar will feature the same topics, focusing on the most common and applicable rules.

Ames Golf and Country Club in Ames will host the first seminar on March 13th, Red Oak Country Club in Red Oak will host on March 27th, Central DeWitt High School will be the site on Monday, March 29th and Big Rock Country Club in Fayette will host the final seminar on April 10th. Tentatively IGA Executive Director Bill Dickens is scheduled to present in Ames, IGA Assistant Executive Director Chad Pitts will present in Red Oak and IGA Director of Member Services Jason Bjorklund will present in Fayette and DeWitt.

These seminars are free to attendees and each person will receive a 2010-11 Rules of Golf book. Decisions on the Rules of Golf books will also be available for purchase at a discounted rate. Each seminar is open to anyone who would like to learn a little more about the rules of golf and high school golfers and coaches are specifically encouraged to attend. The Saturday seminars will begin at 9:30 am and last until approximately noon, while Monday, March 29th at DeWitt will begin at 5:00 pm and last until approximately 7:00 pm.

While these are the seminars scheduled at this time, the IGA Staff is always willing to work with our member clubs if they would like to host a brief rules presentation for their membership. Simply call or email the IGA to work out the details.
