CEDAR RAPIDS – Forty-three former Kernels will be in the LA Angels’ camp when Spring Training opens on February 17th in Tempe, AZ. Twenty-one former players are members of the Angels 40-man roster and an additional twenty-two were added as non-roster Invitees. General Manager Tony Reagins made the announcement on Wednesday, February 3rd.
 
 The former players on the 40-man roster include pitchers Trevor Bell, Kevin Jepsen, Robert Mosebach, Sean O’Sullivan, Anthony Ortega, Fernando Rodriguez, Rafael Rodriguez, Ervin Santana, Joe Saunders, Scot Shields and Rich Thompson; catchers Jeff Mathis, Mike Napoli and Bobby Wilson; infielders Erick Aybar, Howie Kendrick, Freddy Sandoval, Mark Trumbo, and Brandon Wood; and outfielders Peter Bourjos and Chris Pettit.
 
 Eight members of the 2009 Kernels were added as non-roster invitees: RHP Ryan Chaffee, RHP Tyler Chatwood, RHP Mike Kohn, RHP Kevin Nabors, LHP Will Smith, LHP Andrew Taylor, C Anel De Los Santos, and INF Alexi Amarista.
 
 Fourteen more (three pitchers and eleven position players) have played in Cedar Rapids: pitchers Ryan Brasier, Tommy Mendoza and Trevor Reckling; catchers Hank Conger, Alberto Rosario and Brian Walker; infielders Ryan Mount, Efren Navarro, Abel Nieves, Andrew Romine, Hainley Statia and Nate Sutton, and outfielders Brad Coon and Jeremy Moore.
 
 The Angels’ minor league camp opens with pitchers and catchers reporting on March 6, followed by position players on March 12. The 2010 Kernels will arrive in Cedar Rapids on Monday, April 5.
 
 The Cedar Rapids Kernels open the 2010 season against the Beloit Snappers on Thursday, April 8 at 6:35 pm. Season tickets and 10-game coupon books are on sale now at www.kernels.com <http://www.kernels.com> , and individual game tickets go on sale March 22 at 10 am.
