KNOXVILLE  -  Ricky Logan of Little Rock, Arkansas, Brady Bacon of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and Robert Ballou of Rocklin, California, are the latest three sprint car drivers to enter the inaugural $5,000-to-win, United States Auto Club (USAC)-sanctioned  Non-Winged Knoxville Nationals, to be held on Sunday, August 8, at the Knoxville Raceway.  The one-day event continues to develop into a shoot-out between the best from USAC, the best from the host Knoxville Raceway, and the best of the independents.  The next entry deadline is fast approaching on Thursday, July 15, as entry fees increase after that date.

The Non-Winged Knoxville Nationals feature race will start 26 cars and be contested over 26 laps.  The USAC Amsoil National Sprint Car Series will compete in two events at two half-mile dirt tracks during the mid-August Cox Design & Metal Fabrication Iowa SpeedWeek awarding the Jesse Hockett “Mr. Sprint car” title.  The first USAC race will be at Knoxville on Sunday night, August 8, with the second event taking place two nights later, on Tuesday, August 10, at the Southern Iowa Speedway in nearby Oskaloosa.

Besides Knoxville’s USAC Non-Winged Nationals and Osky’s USAC Casey’s General Stores Ultimate Challenge presented by Don Long’s Searsboro Telephone Company, other Iowa SpeedWeek events include Knoxville’s Arnold Motor Supply ‘360’ Nationals on August 5-6-7 and its ‘410’ Goodyear Knoxville Nationals on August 11-12-13-14, including the Premier Chevy Dealers Knoxville World Challenge.  Osky will also host a winged ‘410’ Musco Lighting Front Row Challenge presented by Casey’s General Stores show on Monday, August 9, and it will be sanctioned by the All Star Circuit of Champions.  Additionally, the ‘410’ sprints at Knoxville on Saturday, August 7, and the ‘305’ sprints at Knoxville on Sunday, August 8, will also be points-paying races in the twelve-race Iowa SpeedWeek chase.
